Healthy Hearty Breakfast

Breakfast has often been known as the most important meal of the day because it refuels your body after a long night of digestion. Breakfast has to keep you going till lunch time so try and go for foods which release energy slowly. Especially, if you are on your holidays, you will need to have a great breakfast to be energetic during the day. Here are a few examples of tasty, high-energy breakfasts which will make you alert and ready to face the day! (N.B. Remember that skipping breakfast is not an option. If you can’t eat it at 7am, take it to work and eat it before 10am.)

• Yoghurt, Honey, Oats, Fruit: This is a really easy breakfast which can be prepared in less than 5mins.
Layer some Greek yoghurt with some oats, blueberries, chopped bananas and
drizzle with honey.

• Toast and Tea: You don’t have to give up on your toast and cuppa in the morning. Here’s how to keep it healthy.
Use wholemeal bread for your toast and use an olive oil based spread or
peanut butter. Try putting honey in your tea instead of sugar, or even better,
switch to green tea, which is full of anti-oxidants that fight off cancer.

• Egg and Soldiers: A classic which can be healthy. Eggs are a fantastic source of protein. A great breakfast to have with the kids!
Boil the egg. Toast some wholemeal bread and top with olive oil spread. Make soldiers. Enjoy with a glass of fruit juice!
